Real Estate Mediation

When disputes arise from a real estate transaction, no one really wants to end up in court, or in any formal proceeding.  That’s why mediation is becoming popular with buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords, brokers and office managers in a broad range of real estate matters.  The average mediation is a fraction of the cost of an average court case and is over in weeks, rather than months, or even years.

The idea of mediation is simple. When the parties can’t settle on their own, they bring in an impartial person with negotiation and settlement skills who facilitates their finding a workable solution.  Mediators don’t take sides, give legal advice, or decide cases.  They focus on the process of negotiation - improving communication, defusing unproductive emotions, structuring discussion, and clarifying issues and options.  Terms of agreement become binding only when the parties voluntarily sign a written settlement document.

Typical real estate issues resolved through mediation relate to broker-agent commissions, sales contracts, mortgage financing, property management, and landlord-tenant relations. Experienced MediationWorks' professionals are knowledgeable about real estate contracts and the role of each party to a transaction.

Mediation is designed to resolve disputes quickly and thoroughly.  Most solutions develop within one or two sessions.  MediationWorks can set up an appointment as quickly as all parties agree to an acceptable date.
